Stefan Kraft secures his second victory at Ruka Large Hill
Ruka World Cup culminated on Sunday with the second ski jumping competition. Fifty of the best advanced from the early evening qualification to the competition. A major surprise was the elimination of the perennial champion Kamil Stoch from the competition.
The large hill competition in Ruka featured a highly competitive event on Sunday. Stefan Kraft also emerged as the winner of the second competition of the weekend. The Austrian scored 363.5 points after two rounds and was ultimately dominant.
In the second position was the Austrian Jan Hoerl, and in third place was the German Andreas Wellinger. The strong weekend for the Germans continued, with four Germans among the top ten.
The weekend for the reigning champion Halvor Egner Granerud was really challenging, and he fell far behind in both competitions. The Norwegian’s placement today was tenth.
All four Finns made it to the competition from the qualification. Among the Finns, Antti Aalto and Niko Kytösaho advanced to the second round of the final. Both jumpers were also among the top 30 yesterday. Aalto finished 18th in Sunday’s competition, and Kytösaho finished 27th.
