At the FIS Ruka Nordic World Cup in Nordic skiing, held for the 25th time, top athletes take each other on in Ruka’s breathtaking scenery in front of a live audience. Once again, every competition day promises fast-paced and thrilling moments of sport, from Friday to Sunday and from morning to evening.

Wintry atmosphere!
Ruka Nordic offers the most wonderful setting for the opening of the winter season. Alongside the competition buzz, you can soak up the atmosphere by the warmth of a campfire and enjoy the stunning scenery.
Entertainment is provided by the area’s many restaurants, which also feature great performers.

Fun and the joy of exercise for the whole family!
There is plenty to do for the youngest members of the family at Ruka, too! Our special guest familiar from previous years, Santa Claus, arrives with Mrs Claus to greet athletes both big and small.
Family VIP Sunday offers a varied programme for the whole family:
Face painting (cheering flags on your cheeks)
Crafting Christmas decorations, bead jewellery and Finnish flags
Colouring pages and ice fishing fun
Candy bingo at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00
Animal characters visit during the day to greet the children
Play area for toddlers
Plenty of atmosphere at the event market!
Inside the area, near the main gates of the stadium, you will find the event market and toilet area, both renewed for this year.
The event market sells traditional Kuusamo delicacies and other local products, such as unique jewellery. It’s also an easy place to pick up Christmas presents, such as soft woollen socks and authentic, warm Icelandic sweaters.
At the market you can meet Santa Claus, Mrs Claus and our cheerful mascots, and take photos with them as a souvenir.
Merchandise for sale in the event area
In the event area you can buy popular, warm Ruka Nordic fan merchandise, beanies and scarves, as well as the Finnish flags that are essential for cheering on the finishing straight.

Arriving by public transport:
We recommend arriving at the venue by SkiBus, which runs between Kuusamo and Ruka during the competition weekend.

Parking:
Parking areas are located along Talvijärventie, the road leading to the event area, and in the yard of Ruka School. Please follow the instructions of the traffic controllers. Crossing Lake Talvijärvi is prohibited due to weak ice conditions.
Heated parking is also available in the paid parking garage in Ruka Village. There is no free public parking in Ruka Village.
Ticket sales, wristband exchange points and opening hours:
There are two ticket sales points at the event: one in Ruka Village and the other along Hiihtostadionintie next to Hotel Rukatonttu. You will receive a wristband at the ticket sales point. If you have bought your ticket in advance, you will be given a wristband in exchange for your advance ticket or Lippu.fi receipt.

Prohibited items in the area:
Bringing alcohol into the area is not allowed. There are several licensed bars in the area. Knives or other bladed weapons, fireworks and any other items that endanger safety are also not allowed. Please be prepared for bag checks. The area is under camera surveillance.
Toilets
Heated toilets are available in the event area behind the stadium building, at the edge of the dining area and in the VIP restaurants. Portable toilets are located near the Karhunkierros restaurant. There are also accessible toilets in the area.
First aid:
The first aid point for spectators is in the middle of the event area, next to the Karhunkierros restaurant. All restaurants have first aid kits. Two doctors are on duty in the area.
