Ruka Nordic offers even better seats and services this year
FIS World Cup Ruka Nordic opens the skiing world cup in Kuusamo on 29.11.-1.12.2024. Expectations are high for both the sports and the atmosphere.
“I believe that this year, the World Cup opener will see new young Finnish names make their breakthrough on the global winter sports stage, particularly in skiing,” predicts Ruka Nordic Event Manager Jarkko Ruhanen. Having been part of the Ruka Nordic organization for over a decade, Ruhanen has high expectations for the upcoming event.
“Ruka Nordic’s visitor numbers have increased for the past three years. Of course, I expect and hope the audience will also attend our event this year.”
Better views than ever before
With all Nordic disciplines, the event is the largest winter cup event in the world. During Ruka Nordic, top athletes from around the world compete in ski jumping, Nordic Combined, and skiing over long and short distances.
The audience will have an even better experience at this year’s event.
For example, the Rukan Impilinna site, which has served as an unofficial forest lookout, will have cafeteria services offering snacks and drinks to a hungry audience.
The space in the stadium building previously used by the press will be released for the audience. Ruhanen says that this space serves business customers.
“Also, as a new thing, the Sudenpesä VIP area will become a family VIP area for Sunday, which means that families with children will use it.”
In addition, a larger audience area is being constructed to the stadium, and a warm toilet container will be brought adjacent to it.
One of the smaller audience tents from the previous year will be removed and replaced by an outdoor terrace where festival-style food, such as pinsas, will be sold.
Ruhanen isn’t ready to reveal the exact recipe just yet, but his satisfied smile hints that the initial tasting of the ‘pinsa’ product left a good impression.
Buy your ticket in advance
Ruka Nordic’s ticket sales will start on September 20. on Lippu.fi. When purchased in advance, price for tickets will be cheaper than at the gate.
“A ticket purchased in advance speeds up access to the stadium area. In addition, those who buy these tickets via Lippu.fi will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle, where you can win tickets for next year’s event as well.”
